Hi, I’m Virgi from Buenos Aires, Argentina I have taken these pictures the first week of September. We have been in quarantine for 25 weeks already, starting March 19.

Everyone feels quite tired and frustrated. Quarantine started at a very early stage of the Covid-19 outbreack. Schools have been closed since March 16 and children who are lucky have been able to have regular virtual lessons, but they certainly miss day to day contact with their class-mates and teachers. Situation is worse for some schools that have not been able to organize this for their students for different reasons, specially lack of conectivity of the teachers or students as well as social issues.

Today, individuals are still recommended to stay home except for essential activities, but shops are gradually starting to open. Starting this week bars and restaurants that have a place outside have been allowed to open but the rest of them are only for take out.

It´s possible to notice that people are going out more and more and not all of them are careful. Most people do wear masks or screens while on the street. Very few shops allow people inside and usually have a maximum of 2 customers at the same time. Social gathering are still banned except if they are outdoors in a public space and keeping social distance.

Transit between jurisdictions is controlled and permits have to be issued if you need to exit your area and enter another area. Many provinces have closed their borders to avoid expansion of the virus. Public transportation is only allowed for essential workers. Other citizens are encouraged to travel on foot, bicycle or own car.

One of the largest park in the Palermo neighborhood, it was a very cold afternoon on a weekday and only a biker could be seen, but usually on weekends many people go and enjoy some time outside now that open air leisure activities are allowed.

Neighborhood Caffes without customers. Passer-by wearing a mask. Buenos Aires Caffes are well known for always being busy and open until late hours, unfortunately this has changed, and this sector is one of the most economically affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Movie theatre, you can see that the signposts haven’t changed for a long time, it has been closed since March and the movies couldn’t be premiered. Government is considering re- opening movie theatres in the near future.
