As we enter the new year, we farewell to the year we leave behind with sad and sweet memories. The most enthusiastic New Year celebrations in Turkey take place in Istanbul as usual. People celebrate the coming of the new year with different options.

In Turkiye many people prepare turkey for new year dinner. Special cakes and of course baklava are always in the menu. We play bingo, bake chestnuts and watch fun shows. With various Christmas decorations, arrangements are made both in houses and in streets and avenues, and a different nuance is displayed with lighting. On New Year’s Eve, entertainment options can be found according to different lifestyles. Concerts are enjoyed in hotels, restaurants or in public places, accompanied by various artists.

The most popular place is Taksim Square and Baghdad Street as usual. Bagdat street is one of the most popular places for the new year. All the shops and trees all along the street are sparkling. You can find Special New Year’s menus in restaurants . Another popular place is Nişantaşı. Those who want to enter the New Year in the stylish streets of Nişantaşı in Istanbul make their reservations in beautiful places.

My favorite New Year’s Eve has always been house parties.

I really like to host guests at home, prepare delicious meals and chat with our friends over wine. I am one of those who believe that the way we enter the new year, we will spend the whole year that way. What would it be like if our loved ones were with us all year long, good food, wine and desserts? I think it would be awesome. Isn’t it the best moment of the night for children to open the presents under the tree? time for bingo after gifts. A true Christmas classic.

If you live in Istanbul, you can watch the fireworks show on the magnificent Bosphorus every year at exactly 12 o’clock.
