The Schwammerl man goes into the forest to collect Schwammerl (Bavarian expression for mushrooms). The people get together and make fun of him and throw stones at him.
“Look at him, the Schwammerl man! There he goes into the forest to look for Schwammerl – but in our country it’s called mushrooms and not Schwammerl.” … the people shout laughing and throw stones at him.
The stones bounce off the Schwammerl man as he walks past them into the forest: “Yes, that’s just how everyone does it, the way they were taught!” he calls out to the people.
“Yes – everyone does it the way they were taught,” the people say and laughing and throwing stones at him.
