Eid–Al–Adha is one of the major holidays of Islam,It is one of the two most important muslim celebrations. People sacrifice a lamb (or other animal) and give the meat to friends, family and the poor. The sacrifice symbolizes obedience to Allah and the distribution of food represents generosity.
The festival of Eid Al-Adha starts on Thursday 30th July and ends on Monday 3rd August.
The ministry reminds, in a release, citizens that prevention against the novel coronavirus does not allow the accomplishment of the Eid Al Adha prayer in Moussalas and mosques, adding that this prayer can be performed at home and that sermon is not a condition.
To avoid crowding, the souks take place over four days instead of one in order to reduce the number of simultaneous visitors.
The pandemic has, however, badly hit Morrocco, which have shut or heavily restricted major markets, while fears about catching the virus are keeping customers away ahead of the main festival on Saturday
