Hello, I’m Kimberly from Malta and I am attaching some photos of how coronavirus has affected the tiny island of Malta. Up to today, Sunday 6th September 2020, there have been 2039 cases, with 1627 recoveries and 14 deaths. The total number of active cases until today is 398 cases.
Retail shops have floor markings reminding their customers to keep 2 meters distance between themselves.
Hotels remind their guests that their establishment is safe. Staff wear gloves & face shields/face masks during food preparation and serving. The premises for this particular hotel are also sanitized hourly. Before entering a hotel, the temperature of the guest is taken.
Before & after entering the pool area, hand sanitization is required.
Hand sanitization gels are provided frequently & is encouraged before entering a restaurant. A maximum of 6 people per table is allowed. For buffet service, waiter service is mandatory.
The gym is eerily quiet and not all gym equipment can be used. Plastic has been put on gym equipment so that there is some distance between each person.
Inside gyms, it is required to disinfect the equipment before & after use.
