Mongolia has all chances of becoming a popular post COVID destination for active travel as the we have had no domestic transmission. Since we are the 2nd after Greenland least populated country in the world it can be a place to practice a good deal of social distancing even when traveling: Facebook – Instagram – youtube

Despite having China as one of its 2 neighbors, to date Mongolia has had less than 300 infections all without exception imported as the government has been bringing its citizens from abroad in small parties. 265 have already recovered. Since there hasn’t been any domestic transmission wearing masks is becoming an optional duty.

Ulaanbaatar is a rapidly modernizing city. Advancing global culture is inevitably gaining popularity among the younger generation. With a median age of 28 it has one of the youngest populations in the world. COVID is still in the air but personal protective measures have been eased.

Wearing masks is becoming more of an optional requirement although all supermarkets, shops and public places have a reminder sign.

Mongolia was one of the first countries to rule out domestic lock down and stringent control to prevent the COVID spread. The country shut its borders 25 January. Ever since social distancing is being practiced at all levels of public and private service sectors.
