Have you ever heard a meal called Kumpir? Or have you ever tasted it before?
Ortaköy is the best place for eating Kumpir in İstanbul.
Basically, after the potato is cooked in special ovens, its skin is split. Add salt and butter to it and mix it. It is traditionally served in its shell. Generally, various appetizers and sauces are placed on the plain form.
In the most common way of serving, grated cheddar cheese is mixed with potatoes, boiled sausage is chopped into potatoes. Apart from these, it can be made with corn, olives, peas, mushrooms or various appetizers or with various ingredients according to your taste. It is often served flavored with sauces such as ketchup and mayonnaise.
Kumpir is a kind of street food but you can cook at home. Ingredients are very simple and easy to find.

2 large size potato
2 tablespoon butter
1 water glass grated cheddar cheese
One tea cup boiled corn
1/2 water glass olives
4-5 pickle
Sausages
2 tablespoon mayonnaise
2 tablespoon ketchup
1/4 tea spoon salt
Actually there is no limit to the materials to be added to Kumpir.
At first bake the potatoes in preheated oven 200 C about 90 minutes. Then take them and cut the potatoes with a knife but do not separate them . Add butter and cheese then stir with a fork. After that you can add the rest of the ingredients. Aaaand eat it .It is very cheap and yummy. You can prepare for your friends.
